Title: I30 estate pde petrol intermittent Low turbo boost failure
Post by: Vyshakh.thirunilath on January 01, 2024, 10:40:17
I own a Hyundai i30 2017 Estate, specifically the I30 T-GDI SE NAV 1L model. Recently, I noticed a decline in power while driving, leading to the activation of the engine warning lamp. The fault code displayed is P0299(00) [0x029900], indicating a Turbocharger (TC)/supercharger (SC) low boost condition. The problem was intermittent, mostly occurring in rainy conditions.

I took the car to the garage, where they identified a mechanical failure in the turbo and replaced it with a new one, assuring me that the issue was resolved. However, the problem recurred after a few days, prompting a return to the garage. Despite checking the boost pressure sensor and conducting a smoke test for leaks, they couldn't find any issues.

Currently, the garage is facing challenges in diagnosing the problem, and I've observed that the issue predominantly arises in wet conditions, resolving itself during dry weather. Any guidance or insights into this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in  advance
