...if i get some nice private road i might go for a bit of a top speed and record it on my diesel for comparison :)

Ditto - but only on a private road, of course.

Guys, I hope you know how dangerous this is, not much you can do if you get a flat tire at 200km/h

The best place to test your car is at a 1/4 mile track, or at some race track.

I did not make the video :) But I tested it myself last month and I also got 200km/h, slightly faster than the video though

hi,
ive hit 190km/hr on the way to dunsborough (15-30 south of busselton which is 3 hours south of perth) to where i used to work and the road was very bumpy, if i had a straight and a nice nd even road i mightve clicked 200+km/ph and 205km is the i30 top speed so i dont know. i was hitting 190km at about 5 gran on the rev meter in forth.

cheers
ash
btw i have the 2.0 litre motor.
p.s.s and my car gets up to that speed faster to.

I cant say I have had my i30 anywhere near those speeds. I have hit 140k a couple of times breifly overtaking traffic and it did it with absolute ease.

Don't forget, the speedo over registers by about 5% so the speeds you think you are achieving are not the real speeds.  You will need to use a GPS to get accurate figurres.

Dead right Bob,

We just got ourselves a GPS, Tom Tom One 4th Gen, very happy with it.
When my needle on the speedo reads 100kph, GPS reads 94kph. I know which one I would trust to be right. Thanks NASA.
