Hi folks, First time poster here and struggling to connect my Samsung S20 to my 'new to me' OEM 2018 PD2 i30 Premium Head unit. (BTW, I'm totally new to this phone to car malarkey so pls be gentle with me. ) Here's the story (and my questions) so far: 1. The phone connects via Bluetooth for calls, contact list and audio (what audio does that refer to?) . I have that working OK but still setting it up to work seamlessly. 2. The 'phone projection thing' requires Android Auto. Using Android Auto requires a 'quality' USB cable to work...(yes/no). TBH I'm a bit disappointed that it can't be done via Bluetooth too, but perhaps that feature came out on later model head units or cars? ... I have searched around but not found any specific fix. Our FD has the flashing LCD display, it has been doing it for about a year but recently it started just not lighting up at all so i am wondering is anyone able to help point to what needs replacing in the circuitry? Im not an electrical engineer but i dont mind a bit of tinkering to solder/desolder if i am pointed in the right direction. I have done a little bit of external troubleshooting but happy to do more, I have a dash and fader from a wrecked diesel that seems to work fine which i can swap parts across if needed. I have checked and its just the LCD display not the whole cluster and ive double checked its not the fader and also the diesel dash. Its all of the backlighti... Hey there, new to this forum I actually knew very little about my i30 CW 2009 until a couple of weeks ago, when I took it to a garage for repair for the first time in 15 years (excluding normal servicing and replacing usual things after certain mileage) So, couple of weeks ai ago went to a garage to get a knock on the steering wheel while turning. Now I know everything about the infamous bush, but back then it was just a silly pieace of rubber that needed replacement. So I had it replaced. Upon collecton the car, the mechanic told me that now I had a warning light on...the ESP OFF. He said he had no idea how it happened and it was coincidental...ok . Said that the diagnostic indicated steering a... August 02, 2024, 16:55:13 by Szgabor94 | Views: 4852 | Comments: 34
Hi all, I bought a hyundai i30 1.6 crdi (2016) a few months ago, and I noticed that the dpf regenerates too often. As I read the normal regeneration frequency is above 400 km, but mine do that between 130-150 km. I check the oil level in a daily basis and I think its not increasing. I bought a cheap obd device to track the regenerations more efficiently. It shows that the regeneration starts at 14,7g soot level. The dpf differential pressure sensor shows a 220 mbar value when the regeneration starts. I attached you a screenshot about the pressure sensor values and soot load. When I saved the log I was driving on the motorway (2000-2500 rpm). Do you see any unusual with the attached log? The soot load and pressure v... Hi all, I'm looking to get gearbox oil changed on my 2014 1.6crdi. My understanding is that the correct spec for the gearbox is 75W85 GL4. I am looking to get some Redline MT85 which I have heard is good stuff. In the manual the capacity is stated as around 1.8-1.9l - can anyone who has changed this confirm this - the Redline comes in 946ml bottles so my plan is 2 should be enough. Hi all, Hoping to get some insight into why the gear I bought to replace my front rotors and brakes didn't fit! I used the Supercheap Auto 'My Garage' to pick parts for the car: rotors, brake pads I had some help from a mate who's done a lot of car builds, and he couldn't figure it out either. We pushed the pistons as far back as they could go with a C clamp, tried the brake pads with and without the anti-rattle shim thingo, and there was no chance of these things fitting over the rotor. Even tried giving them a thu... July 22, 2024, 09:31:30 by Lee001 | Views: 2174 | Comments: 1
Hi all My first post here. Based in West Yorkshire, UK. I bought a Hyundai i30 2012 1.6 CRDi Blue Drive in January with 71,000 miles on the clock. The car has been flawless except that recently, it has started having an intermittent problem. The problem is that when maintaining a steady level of throttle in first, and sometimes second, the car will sort of bounce/kangaroo, as if you are pumping the accelerator pedal and lifting off. I thought it happened when the car was cold but having yesterday driven 80 miles on the motorway, when I came to a stop at a roundabout it did the same thing when setting off in first. It doesn't happen all the time but it is very annoying. Took it to the garage who ... July 14, 2024, 07:00:53 by NicuL | Views: 1978 | Comments: 3

Hi Everyone, I own a 2009 Hyundai i30 gasoline 1.6L automatic. Over the past few weeks, my car has been experiencing a strange issue. Whenever it shifts gears, there's a jittering, jerking sensation. Typically, the RPMs drop as expected during a gear change, but sometimes, even when I increase the throttle, the RPMs remain unchanged while the jittering occurs. To further investigate, I connected my OBD2 tool and checked for problem codes but found none on the transmission control unit and ECU. It’s quite difficult to explain as I’ve never encountered this issue before. I conducted a test drive with a mechanic who also observed the same shuddering sensation between shifts, describing it as a bucking sensation... |
