Several months ago when we purchased our new 2015 plated i30 (Oct 2015?) we were told that an Android version of Apple Air Play would be available within 6 months. Now that Hyundai has our money there seems little interest in letting us know if this update has been released. Recently I have seen talk of it now being available. I have logged onto the Hyundai website but can't see any place where I might download the software update. So hopefully someone on the forum might be more informed as to whether it has actually been released for the GD4, and if so where it might be obtained. Thanks in advance.
-
Welcome to the club Bad Wolf,
The Android Auto upgrade became available only this week so don't feel too badly about not being contacted yet, although you will be better off calling your dealer and arranging a date for the upgrade.

Thanks cruiserfield, is it not something I can do myself through USB?
-
The upgrade software is not distributed outside of Hyundai, the only way to get it is to book your vehicle in with them.

Thanks guys, the rear seat isn't latching properly so need to take it back to be looked at, so good time to do both.

For AU owners, I found the update file link (around 200+mb) in one of cartronic's documents in the internet. Not sure if it's legit though as it's easily accessible. Is there a way to check before using it?

Without a link to what you're seeing how can we tell :Dunno: I'd still suggest for anyone to get it done through Hyundai anyway as it's quick and without the risk of bricking your unit if done by ones self.
-
Google "tll3000h.hdf" and you'll get an .rtf file from cartronics. There are links there for the update file and guide on how to do it. Let us know what you think.
I will take your suggestion though, have booked it two weeks from now.
-
I honestly couldn't guarantee the file is legit, text files can be modified easily and who knows who's Dropbox you are linked to downloading from, not worth the risk imo.
-
:whsaid:
-
I have upgraded the software from google search "tll3000h.hdf" and Android auto is now on . Simple process but ensure your dont turn off the car ..
Post upgrade remember to adjust the google maps navigation volume as its very low .You need to adjust it after pressing voice button .

hi all,
has anyone still got a copy of the latest firmware as the cartronics link or searching via google no longer work?

hi all,

You're a week late, I cleaned up my USB stick to put some movies on unfortunately :( hopefully someone else may have it :undecided:
I wonder if there is a new version/update coming and that's why the page was pulled :undecided:
-
Oh damn,
Looks like i just missed it; does anybody else have a copy of the tll3000h.hdf file? or does anybody know where to find another copy? Ive searched online and cant seem to find the update and my newly installed system is running an older version.
I'm not too keen on driving all the way to my local Hyundai Dealership to get this done and possibly get charged $$$ for a simple process that I could easily do at home myself.
Thanks! :)

I have the file and instructions if you still need them. Let me know by replying via email link.

Did you manage to get it work! I have installed it however i get no sound during android auto play,... Did you get it working on you i 30?
-
Hey, Can I please also get the file? Just upgraded to the new Pixel, but noticed my car doesn't have Andriod Auto.
Thanks.
-
^ link sent.
-
Awesome, Just did the update took less than 30 minutes.
Note; Ran the update, was successful, but there was no audio.
Checked that the; SW Ver, Micom and platform were correct. Noticed that it only updated one. So ran the update again as instructed in the documentation attached. Checked that everything matched.... Preso!
Everything worked :)
Apple Car Play and Andriod Auto 100% working
Thanks for that :) Much appreciated.
-
I had the same issue. Run the update again and it worked fine :)

-
OOOh man you must be sick of this already, but..... can I have a copy of the file too? Please?
-
Who's next ??
-
It's looking like a dedicated link in a 'support' section would let Shambles get some quality time.
-
Hey @Shambles do you know if this update will also work with i30 GD3??
-
... do you know if this update will also work with i30 GD3??
I cannot say for sure, so don't try it until someone else can confirm.
I believe @GreyBanna may have a GD03 and tried the upgrade...?
-
I've got a GD03 non satnav head unit and the firmware update suits that model.
-
The instructions for the update file state that it is designed to update the following "Hyundai Audio Models" (Aka the head unit / stereo units or however you refer to them);
- TL-01 (TL-01 unit found in the Tucson)
- DM-01 (DM-01 unit found in the Santa Fe)
- AD-01 (AD-01 unit found in the Elantra)
- GD-03 (GD-03 unit found in the i30)
It worked a charm in my GD-03 unit, make sure to read included instructions as some models will have to be updated twice to bring all software for the various systems within the head unit up to the revision number listed in the instructions)
-
Any chance i could get a copy of the file too? Is there an obvious way to tell if the Head unit is a GD-03 vs a GD-02 without getting it out that anyone knows of?
-

Hi there, if possible could I please also have an early Xmas present?
Just took ownership of a new Highlander MY18 and can't believe Android Auto not installed :(
Would be much appreciated if you get a chance.
Cheers,
Tim

Buggar! No luck here.
Copied the file tll3000h.hdf as is on to a freshly formatted USB stick and inserted into the USB socket with Audio system on. Just got the message "no media files found" (or something close to that)
Think I will need to ring the dealer tomorrow. The mY18 is fully advertised as supporting Android Auto, so no idea why it is no istalled good to go.
:disapp:
Thanks again for the assistance!

Yeah, disaster avoided thankfully.
Closer inspection on the details of the Tucson, and it seems the latest Highlander model still does not support Android auto. I was deadset keen on having it, and when I decided to go with the more expensive HL, just assumed that Android Auto would be included due to the fact it was available on the lower models. Lesson learned :(
Does anyone know if it is actually possible to have it installed at a service dept, or does it just not support it at all?
Cheers

I'm sure if it was that easy it would already be installed UNfortunately. Very frustrating for you. Must be slightly different stereo for some reason? Guessing you get other features. :undecided:

You certainly can my friend.

Evening All,
If I may ask for the file as well please?
As an Android user I would love to have the newest FW installed.
Question: If you install the FW yourself will that have an impact on your Manufacturer / Dealer Warranty, as I cannot find any information on that in T&C's of my contract?!?
Much appreciated.
cheers
-
All done @Daz0407 - good luck.

Hey guys,
Just purchased a GD4 i30 HATCH ACTIVE in Australia and it unfortunately comes with old FW! I'll ring the closest dealers from me tomorrow in hopes they can sort it out, as the one I got it from is 1.5 hrs away. In case they aren't willing to do it, could one of you (*cough* @Shambles *cough*) hook me up with a live link to the update file? From what I've read, it's safe to assume it'll work for me without any hiccups, pending I follow the instructions?
Thanks in advance folks!

Hi All,
Last week I purchased a second hand 2016 model. Had carplay install so I thought all good. Started to use it on the 60km drive back home from the town I bought it and it started spazzing out. It was overdue for a service so I had the car serviced and I thought I would ask my hyundai dealer to confirm a firmware update.
Get home and check it out and the f#@kers either didn't do it or are too lazy to find the latest software from cartronics by the looks. The main issue with carplay is it wont open onto the display any of the 3rd party apps like tunein or abc listen. All of the apple apps seems to work fine.
Last night I downloaded the firmware and attempted to flash the firmware but it keeps saying it has failed. I dont see why it should be an issue but can the car engine be running or should it be done on accessories? also, have people formatted the USB as fat32 or ntfs? I am going to try it again this arvo but really keen to get it fixed.
What amazes is how poor the entertainment unit is. I had a 2013 Elantra and that was bad but there isnt much of an improve with the GD03 unit when it comes to the lack of RDS
-
Hi @nugget22
Fat32 is the format required for the USB and make sure nothing else is installed on the stick except for the firmware root file, I did my update with just the accessories turned on.
I'm not sure about the apps you mentioned, whether they work on the unit would depend on if they have Apple licencing for Carplay :undecided:
-
Thanks the Fat32 got the update to work and so far the update has fixed my issue with car play as all the apps are loading.
I know firmware updates can be a risky issue but it frustrates me that they are not easily available. I ask the dealer to complete the firmware update and they don’t even use the latest firmware.

Only $140:00 per hour a tech? Cheap !

I am so tempted to tell them they are not using the latest firmware however I dont want them and the supplier to catch on and shutdown the way we can access the firmware
-
Hey all!
I'm not too late for this firmware file? The dropbox link doesn't appear to work anymore :(
Just bought a 2016 Tucson and hoping this might help!
Thanks in advance!

Could I also please get a link to download the firmware?
My i30 is begging for it!

Hey Guys,
I know I'm a bit late to the party :yoohoo:, but has this firmware worked with this head unit (picture attached)? Would I be right in saying this is a GD4? As the instructions say GD3, is there a different firmware needed for my head unit? Or have people had success using the cartronics update on the GD4? Sorry If this has been answered in the thread and I've missed it! But I couldn't see anything when reading through!

The firmware is not suitable for that unit, Navigation units weren't allocated GD model numbers and I would doubt that a British delivered vehicle would have an Australian Cartronics head unit.
-
Within the downloadable PDF are listed models covered...
TL
-
01 (Tucson)
DM
-
01 (Santa Fe)
AD
-
01 (Elantra)
GD
-
03 (i30)

Thanks for the quick response @CraigB, I was getting excited for AA but looks like this model won't be getting it :(.
Thanks again!

If there is an Update for that unit your local Hyundai service centre would upgrade it for free.
