A relative of mine has an FD and hadn't realised till recently when driving at night that she gets an annoying reflection of the instruments on the windscreen.  I haven't driven the car in the dark yet, but she assures me it is a problem.  I asked her to try driving without her glasses on, still the same.  She has also dimmed the instrument back lighting but the problem persists. Any advice ?  Is this a known issue with the FD's, as my GD doesn't have the problem but the dash is of course totally different and the instruments look to be set deeper in.

Only a couple of members have complained about this and it seems to be related to driving position. Suggest that she trys moving the seat and the steering wheel to get a totally different driving position that is still comfortable.. I am guessing she is fairly short and sits low...

I think the one or two others that complained were mainly concerned with the radio reflection in the screen and someone suggested making a little plastic hood above it...

I have two FD's and I have never noticed the problem,my wife is short and sits a lot closer to the screen than I,she has never mentioned it either.

If it is what Dazz said,the radio screen reflecting in the windscreen(also not and issue myself or wife have had) simple fix it to turn of the display light off.

Blue light reflection at night

I understand what you're talking about. hasn't anyone noticed when they drive past an FD at night you can see all the blue lights reflecting at the top of the windscreen. Turning off the radio displays helps a lot

Now there's another project for The Gonz, a light sensitive dimmer circuit, for the radio display.

Never had the problem, low motivation.
Dimming the radio display is likely very difficult if not already designed for the option. A donated faulty unit might undergo surgery to derive a solution.

Checked mine just last night.
Based on my normal driving position. I didn't see the reflection of radio panel on the windscreen. But if I moved much forward and close to the windscreen then look up, I saw the reflection on the top of windscreen. It's still not too annoy because it's on the top. However I cannot drive at this position.

No apology necessary IMO, some people are short, some tall. You are, what you are.

I'm kinda shortish (5'5") but never saw the accidental HUD in my FD, until I read about the problem on here and leaned forward to have a look. Sure, it was there but totally out of sight when driving.
