Update! Did a day trip to Hobart yesterday (650 kms in total) and while there I discovered that Tint-a-Car do vinyl wrap and their price list says $350 for a large car roof .. Watch this space

My father bought a HD Holden with a spray painted Gloss Black roof. Very distinctive and a one of a kind. Although hot in summer, no air cond in those days, the car looked quite good, IMO. the Rego was 444-488. Why do I always remember useless numbers like this.

Dad's first car was an XT Falcon sedan (VIC) JZB-053. I can remember useless things too.

In the early 80s my dad bought a green torana with a white vinyl roof. He ripped it off and painted it the same colour as the body. Made the car look MUCH better.

I told a mate about it and he said he couldn't imagine what it would look like. I googled Hyundai i45 premium images on my phone and I came up on the first page standing next to one!

Always liked the look of white car with shiny black roof, hence this thread.

  The guy just rang up to say he pulled the Vinyl back off as he couldn't get the antenna off and it didn't look right around that area.

Not sure if I will get him to try again...

He tried but it involves removing he head lining apparently (so he tried to work around it) 

Sort of glad he didn't try and remove that..(the headlining)

No mate, all good. 

He must have disconnected the battery though, to keep the sunroof open, because I lost all my economy records.

He also stuffed up my driving position and lost my seat memory settings!
