Good evening everyone,  :needhelp:
I've been desperately searching through the internet to find an answer to my problem but had no such luck so I've just joined this forum as I'm baffled  :workitout:

Whilst driving this evening, the lock button on the dashboard started to continuously blink randomly. I had been driving for about 30 minutes and suddenly noticed it. There was no warning message or noise just the lock button flashing. As you all are aware when the car is locked the button is illuminated. I've never had this happen to me before and I've got 2 young children and I'm paranoid I'm going to get locked in the car with them.

When I stopped the car and parked up I pressed it and it stopped and the doors opened - phew!
Does anyone know what this is or why my car is suddenly doing this?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated   :)

I have never experienced this and from your description you have a later model than mine which, if true, means that a quick trip to the dealer on Monday should solve your problems.

I think that being locked in the car with your two children can't be all that bad, can it, are they very very naughty children ????

With regards to be lock IN the car I am assuming that one could always manually unlock the door by pulling the locking device handle to release it ???

Good luck  :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

 :hahaha:

It's s 2012 i30.
Thank you for your reply.  That's what I thought I'd end up doing, it's Sod's law it happened on a Saturday evening

Noooo they are good girls but I'd read on some other websites tonight (when searching for my problem) about some peoples central locking going bonkers and as a result getting trapped in their car

I was hoping it would be something simple to rectify.
Thanks again  :goodjob:

Hi Torialou

 :wttc:

On my older i30 there's no illuminated Lock botton, but I think it's a warning light to tell you something is wrong. Have you browsed the manual to see if this is described..

Otherwise, off to the dealer to get it fixed under warranty.

Hi Torialou and  :welcum:

It is a trick we have devised to get new members  :whistler:

Bit of an odd one (certainly not reported on here as far as I can recall...)  :undecided:

Hopefully your dealer can sort it quickly next week.. Yes these things happen to me on weekends too!  :undecided:

Not that I've ever seen this happen but it looks like a state of confusion in the circuit. Perhaps a drink has been spilt into one of the armrests or a switch or wire has otherwise been conpromised. Off to the dealer! :victory:

Reset the ecu by taking lead off  batteryl

If that does not reset then get dealer to check error codes

as for being locked in our car, all the later model Hyundais I have driven when everything is turned off at least the driver's door does open by just pulling the door handle so you can always get out and leave the Kids to it
