Hi, New owner of a Hyundai i30 in NZ. The headlights never seem to turn off, unless the car is turned off. Even on the ‘off’ position headlights are turned on. Just bought it at an auction at a local dealership. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Or do I need to get in touch with a mechanic? Thanks

Hi everyone,
I recently had an issue with my right wing mirror motor running constantly. I came on here to find advice but couldn't see any quick, temporary fixes so I wanted to share my temporary work around solution, that doesn't involve cutting wires or anything.
There is a fuse in the driver side fuse compartment labelled MEMORY2. Taking that fuse out stopped the wing mirror motor from running constantly until I could get the car to the mechanic.
This fuse does affect other things as well. For example, I can't open/lock the car using the smart key. I have to manually open/lock the doors. That's something to keep in mind.
Just a simple, temporary work around. I hope this helps someone. ...

I30 August 2010 60000 miles. Suspension uncomfortable over rough roads particularly with potholes. Shocks and springs replaced with Sachs components. Wheel bearings fine and suspension bushes etc. checked by garage and found to be ok. Suspension better but not ideal. Any ideas as to what may be wrong?

Rear wiper stopped working on my 2011 Touring 2.0L Petrol MT
1. I changed the motor to a certified refurbished unit, it didn't fix the issue. 2. I changed the relay on the left side in the rear (part 952252d500-ds) - still no dice.
When I turn on the switch to activate the wiper, the relay clicks a few times, pauses, and clicks a few times... but the motor never activated.
I don't want to throw any more money at parts without better insight.

Well, have clicked over the 100,000 mile mark in our late 2018 SR manual. No major problems so far - collapsed bearing in the steering box fixed on warranty - a known issue apparently. Like our FD CW diesel, need to keep up with rear wheel toe in - if you don't keep an eye on it, the inside edges of the rear tyres wear through to the steel, even though the outer looks ok. Space saver tyres are crap, espec. with 160 km to a tyre bay. Have run Continentals and Bridgestones, but must try the Michelins next - the Bridgestone RE s were good Generally, a comfortable good handling car - a bit slow off the mark, but good open road/ back road tourer with good mid range urge when passing. On 2/3rd country, 1/3rd city driving, fuel economy ...

Hello, I have a Hyundai I30 1.4 petrol FD from 2011. The engine is G4FA 109 HP.
I need new o-rings in the timing cover for the oil pump. I can't find them, and also no information about the size. There are 2 o-rings for sealing the oil pump. Does anybody know the diameter and thickness of these o-rings?

Hi everyone,
New day, new problem! Yesterday, the drive side window on my i30 stopped working. All other windows work perfectly fine. I can still here a click from the front right when I push or pull the control switch, but nothing happens. My first try was to disconnect the battery in an attempt to do a reset and I fully charged the battery over night to make sure it isn't a voltage problem. The problem however persists. I found a lot of info on failing power windows in the previous model i30, but not about the GD.
Did anyone here have the same problem and if so, most importantly, what is the solution?

My i30 is: Hyundai i30 5d 1,6 GDI ISG Innovation 2013, 99,00kW I tried to find recommended spark plugs from manual, but it does not mention it. Is there any website to find it? The car part shops have a service where I can tell my model and they tell which are suitable, but can I trust them? Or can you recommend?
I noticed the part shop recommends "NGK SILZKR6B10E" which the NGK website also seems recommends.
And thanks so far, was able to change oil (created my own wooden ramps, if anybody wants to see I can send a pic) , change the filters and tires. Next planning to change spark plugs.
Or does spark plug change belong to professionals because they need adjusting (I saw a video which says that i...
