Title: PD Wagon launched
Post by: tohis on September 03, 2017, 15:56:50
Looks like the PD Wagon is now available. Today I saw one at my former dealer's yard when I was riding around by my Yamaha, so I hit the brake for a closer look. It looked pretty cool, and the rear isn't so badly Golf-looking like in the hatchback. Too bad I already got lured into Toyota's Hybrid world...  :p

Some time ago I saw someone to mention about the wipers not being able to lift up from their basic position, and I can confirm this. There's probably some trick to get wipers moving a bit in order to make lifting them up possible, but that doesn't save it from being unpractical and bad feature.  :fum:

Thanks for that  :D

Yep, those pesky wiper arms can be made to park at the 12 o'clock position using special magic tricks.

Awesome! Thanks for the pictures. Strangely enough although I slightly preferred the styling of the CW and Tourer to their hatch equivalents I think I prefer the back of the hatch in the PD.

I'm sure I'd love the extra storage in the wagon but the extra length after the rear wheels and the slight taper of the roof just looks a bit wrong to me. It might grow on me though.

It's a bit academic anyway as I doubt we will get the wagon "downunder"...

Thanks for the pictures Tohis!

It's a pretty car and lots of flashy features.

@Dazzler I think the hatch looks wrong because of the inverted reason, its got a too small ass. :)

I'd have to agree with Dazz, to much overhang on the rear and the tapered roof looks wrong to me as well.

I actually like short overhangs (the wheel at each corner look)

Horrible car - reminds me of the i40. That's a horrible car too.

All, IMHO, of course.

That's interesting how three Aussie members feel the same way. Probably a good thing it isn't coming to Australia.  :undecided:

Roo's are probably easier to fold up and fit in the trunk, horns on these are huge!

Well I didn't think much of it either.
However..... let's be honest here. Who buys a wagon for its looks? They serve a purpose.
Frankly, I never thought much of the FD CW. Just another wagon.

Yeah there aren't many attractive wagon models, some of the old Holden's FX FJ etc looked great as a wagons, a couple of modern wagons I like are the Audi A3 and RS models...probably a few more that I've seen but don't spring to mind at the moment.

 :TutTut:

I liked the CW and I reckon the GD Tourer is quite attractive too!  :undecided:

Mind you even the Golf wagon like Keith has is not exactly ugly!

I would have one. I quite liked the previous two as well. Thought the FD wagon looked better than the hatch.
