Thanks Asterix  :goodjob: Very interesting ... good to see the i30 in the top 10 and ahead of the Golf  :happydance:

Keith & Alan*... I am so glad the class society is much less pronounced in Australia (it is still there to a small extent)

I think if Hyundai keeps pecking away with models like the i30 and i40 their perception in Aus and even the UK will continue to rise  :goodjob:

When I first got my i30 I visited an old neighbour who made disparaging remarks about the Hyundai brand.
I took him for a drive and I thought he was just a little impressed with the little oiler's performance, especially up hills.

I called in before Xmas and he tells me that they are looking at getting a new car, most likely a diesel as his wife drives fairly long distances back and forth to her job and he knew how impressed I am with mine.

He said they really like the Mazda 3 but it doesn't have a diesel, to which I replied that it actually did. He got excited and declared he was getting one......

Anyhow, to cut a long story short, he has done the sums after test driving the Mazda (and surprisingly the i30) and has decided that the i30 is the better option, price wise and economy wise.....
He tells me he hates the look of the front of the i30 but that's not gonna stop them from buying one.

They were gonna go for the auto but I've convinced them that if they are looking for economy, the manual is the better option by far.
So, it's looking like they'll be purchasing fairly soon. My job is done, I wonder if I'll get any sales commission?  :)
