I wonder what it will cost in the real world. $27590 plus on roads for the auto diesel wagon is a fair amount of coin..

We had a bit of a wait when we picked up our(new)i30 yesterday so we had a chance to look one over.  I think it would have been a definite contender if one would have been in the yards a few months back.  The other half was very impressed.

Mostly the styling.... :D
I always thought it looked a nice looking wagon in photos but it looks even better in the flesh... :goodjob:

Rusty's gone Amish,he likes the wagon.  :goodjob2: :goodjob:

I've always liked the wagon, Steve...even in CW form.
Probably would have bought one if I'd had the extra cash and had been able to buy a manual SLX .

had another browse around the Tourer at the dealer in Murray Bridge today.  Noticed that there is a difference in the cruise control in the Tourer compared to the Hatch.  I'm not surprised as the Tourer comes from Europe.

I have a the iPhone app of the Euro manual for the i30GD and noted that the cruise has a speed limiting feature which we don't get in Oz.  We do get it on the Tourer so looks like another added feature that the Hatch misses out on.

Also noticed the clever use of space under the floor in the back.  Across the rear, under a lift up flap is a deep storage well.  Haven't had a close look at the CW - it may have been on the FD as well.

I noted in one vehicle a material cargo barrier behind the front seats that was secured by a rod at the top and seatbelt straps and buckles at the bottom.

Can only dream as we now have OURI-30 hatch - too late, she cried.

Has your old hybrid sold yet

I asked Matt the Salesman when we were at the Car Show and he said it had (but it in the front row of their 2nd hand yard only a couple of days ago)  Now been 6 months!

When I said to Matt gee it was slow to sell he said "But we have been driving it around"  :undecided:

Now down to $20,990 (not going to make much out of me) :winker:

If they haven't damaged it, it would be a good car for someone, Dazz.
I remember when I sold my Bionic Blue BFll Gt to McInerney Ford outright, they were confident they could sell it quickly because it was totally like new and had only 7500 kms on the clock.
Well, it sat there for months and ended up getting car park dents in the doors from the car yard.
They would have lost money on that one too, I reckon.

Yes Dave.. It was a great car (and I miss the comfy leather seats) .. Would make a great Taxi (seeing lots of that model Hybrid being used as Taxis ...)

Sorry for the  :offtopic: folks..

Now I am on Leave for a week and a bit I will have to see if I can find a new Tourer to check out  :happydance:

Saw a couple of white Tourers on the road yesterday.

Then had a good look at one when I was dropping off an Iload for service.

I think I'm in love  :DoubleKiss:

Finally got to see a GD tourer in the flesh 1.6 Petrol Auto $26,990 drive away  :undecided:

Didn't take any photos as was only an active in silver. Looked nice though and found the seats comfy.

Liked the way the seats folded flat and the finish in the back seemed very good  :goodjob:

Look a bit like a mini i40 (a good thing)  :D

Nothing wrong with the Active, Daz....

They are pretty well equipped with alloy wheels, speed alert and the front off the Elite...

Any comparison's between the new Tourer and the i30 CW Trophy?  I see the back folds down flat in the Tourer, which it doesn't in my Trophy - that, for me, is a big plus.  But, what else?  Is it bigger all around?  I haven't seen one around to have a good look yet.

My wife has an FD CW which has been dressed up as per my signature picture. I checked out the new Tourer the other day and the new styling inside and out looks more modern and stylish and the new GD model is supposed to be a bit quieter.

The one we get in Australia is from the European factory, so if you opt for the Petrol it is only a 1.6 which will be more economical but not quite as Zippy.

I reckon the new styling actually makes it look smaller from the outside but without looking up the specs I believe there is a bit more capacity in the boot with the seats up and with the seats down.

Like you say the seats folding flat is a plus and should have been like that in the previous model as per the FD hatch.

The Drivers seat seemed a bit more comfy to me too.

Does anyone know if the diesel comes equipped with a DPF?

Good point. Need to look under the bonnet of one and see if there is a "no DPF" sticker or anything...

I would expect them to have one. Can't see them doing a special mechanical run just for OZ  :undecided:

With all the trouble the DPF causes, that would be pretty disappointing.  I wonder if it is legal/feasible to remove it if it does come installed.

Another good point. Would involve re-mapping the ecu etc... though I suspect  :undecided:

Perhaps a legal removal and remap would make a nice business opportunity for some in Oz.  :D
