Do they still have a, or same fuel cap & filler neck? or has that changed to flap type or fast fill like the race cars? my friends wives Focus Diesel has the fast fill fuel fill op you don't unscrew anything you just push pump nozzle in & fill, they are good, but hard to brim with.

Do you usually brim the tank?

If so, be interesting to see what is the actual capacity of vayda to fergie and whether the tank is larger, smaller or the same.  But also the filler pipe length will probably be different anyway so may not get accurate comparison.

Still not had chance to RTFM yet, and the freakin satnav manual must be 5cm thick

The nice chappie at the dealer wanted ohhhh so much to run through all the controls etc, but any dealer that asks me why the tailgate badge swivels when pushed, cannot reasonably be expected to know much else

Sorry Richard, if you're reading this :P

If you are a proper man, and you do live in Lancashire so I assume that you are, then reading the manual is a last resort.   Takes all the thrill out of it all.
Anyhow, why read the manual?   We have Alan for all that techie stuff, don't we?

As mentioned earlier, some of us can't understand the manual !!!!!
I am slightly lysdexic and easily misunderstand complicated explanations when in the book...  show me a two min vid and I am good to go

Might have to RTFM with regards the cruise con, as I've no idea what one of the steeringwheel c/controls does, other than it changing the display to ask "Max Speed...?".

Could it be a speed limiter to stop exceeding the set speed, due to terrain.

Could it be an audible speed alert if not a limiter? :Dunno:

It prompts for a max speed after disengaging the cruise, but nothing on the steering wheel updates the display  :Dunno:

The button you point to is the speed limiter switch.

Get the car up to the maximum speed you want to be restricted to and give the button a poke followed by pressing the "set" button to its lower right. The car will then be restricted to this speed. However - if you wish to exceed that speed temporarily (overtake etc) kick down on the accelerator and the setting will be over-ridden accompanied by a most annoying chime until you slow back down again.

After setting the speed limiter you can trim the speed up and down with the plus and minus buttons to the right.  Its useful for long stretches of speed restricted roadworks using average speed cameras

Post by: bumpkin on April 29, 2014, 14:03:24
CC does, but if required you can override the CC by simply pushing the loud pedal.

Speed limiter prevents you over-speeding in a built up area not by setting a speed to hold but by limiting the max, simply the car won't go above the speed you set by pressing the pedal UNLESS you floor it (bit like kick down in an automatic).  Also you NEED to have your foot on the accelerator to maintain speed, unlike the CC.

Sat Nav manual is thick, but I haven't read mine and have yet to get lost, it is fairly intuitive and I suspect if there is something you can't find it will be quicker to post here and wait for an answer than to find it in the manual yourself!!

So does it actually brake the car, if traveling downhill
Title: Re: Where's the bloody fuel flap lever (and other RTFM-related queries)?
Post by: bumpkin on April 29, 2014, 14:08:02
No, limiter doesn't it prevents over speed when on the flat, if the car goes into an over speed situation on a downhill it chimes at you and flashes the speed you have set in the display.

I guess it is more of a power limiter in that sense
