Title: Debadge / Rebadge
Post by: arcteryx on July 04, 2022, 07:00:28
Picked up a new CN7 i30 Sedan on Friday and by Saturday made a few changes to the badging (found this forum while researching views on debadging). Wanted to get a sleeker black and white look by dechroming things. Sharing the results

The question is - leave the Hyundai logo filled in and embossed, or remove the fillins to just have the black logo

It'll look much better with the fill in's removed imo.

I agree. It will look like a dark oval as it is. Toyota? Ford? Can't tell from a distance.

Good points! I figured i'd remove bits progressively (and conservatively) since I can only do it once (short of doing the whole thing again)

Another option is to leave the black fillins and peel the logo so it ends up chrome with a black background

Then it wouldn't be the black and white look you were originally after :)

I removed the inserts/fillins on my own car, better contrast between black /silver and would be the same for black/white
