I'm happy with that. All that should have been done, was done.

I see they used Ultra s - looking it up it is C3.
From memory the last service bill I spied from you just had Ultra.
Had they used the wrong oil at the last service?

Question - What is lithium protect?  Something for the battery?

Same work as 2 year service isn't it?

High melting point grease.

Whilst it would be nice to think it went in some wheel bearings or other place to do a good job, it probabaly went in the door/bonnet hinges and locks.

As far as can see all bearings are sealed for life so don't need greasing at service.

Seems a bit over the top for hinges and locks

Correct. I thought it was something to do with replacing the lithium battery in the remote , but it has been confirmed as you stated.

They said last Friday that the invoice from my previous service was incorrect... that they had clicked the wrong option to show which oil had been used. TODAY, I asked them to show me how the invoice is generated. I now believe they were telling the truth. The low-saps option had "0" or "5"; selecting "5" prints out 5w40 whereas "0" prints out 5w30.

I'm quite pleased with the cost too. The standard book cost (as I saw on their system) is £275 whereas I paid a few bucks less than that; dunno where the shortfall went, but not complaining.

Steve, i just notice they ticked with a pen, that they had checked the timing belt, but the 1.6 CRDi has a timing chain, i think the petrol 2 Lt has a timing belt. so like most dealers it's not the wrench that fills the service form out but the desk.

It's much cleaner to use and better to look at than say graphite based grease. I use it in my bicycle wheels for the same reason. I also did my locks and strikers with it when the car was new, as it wasnt done in the PDI  :'( (I have a big tub)

Can't blame the computer for that one.

John - you're dead right mate. No way of telling for sure. Belt. Chain. Braces. All I know is they've done the job as best I can tell. At least I know my timing belt hasn't stretched too much

Next service is 62,500 miles which should occur around my MOT time (roadworthy test) in March 2011. Oh, and thanks Mr Hyundai dealership, for plastering the 62,500 reminder on 3 different stickers on my windscreen. Stop fkin plastering reminders on my glass. Arsehole.

Yeah that really hacks me off, I DONT need reminding when my car needs servicing, remember guys I CALLED YOU!

Nice job on the service Steve, on the subject of hinge lube, my dealer used some stuff that then ran down the door inners and attempted to stick the door rubber to the car, has now been removed and I greased them myself with lithium protect also

Just looked at my hinges and there is a white coloured deposit all around them.

At least it looks the business.

Has anyone replaced the wiper blades yet?

The reason I ask is it doesn't seem to appear on any of the 2 service schedules I've got or posted (courtesy of Shambles) on the schedules for year 3 or 4.

The one's I've got on my car seem really good and just concerned if the dealer replace at the forthcoming service they charge top dollar for supply and fit.

Silicon blades seem to have a 5 year "guarantee". I put that word in quotes as I seem to remember researching them last year and found that, in normal everyday use, they will not crack, split, pit or weld. But what exactly is normal everyday use? Yup, in the UK, you'll need 'em every day

I'm sure they'll get checked at your MOT next month eye30, but I bet they'll pass with flying colours.

Yup, sorry. I did see that when you posted but for some reason forgot, and thought it was in 2 weeks time.

That's old age creeping up

Maybe I'll ask Dazz for some tips and tricks to help deal with it  :P :P
