Post by: eye30 on November 14, 2018, 18:28:05
POLICE officers have been warning families across the country about electric scooters as presents this Christmas after a 15-year-old boy was given six points on a driving licence he does not even own yet.

12 to 18 year olds should do jail time for any offence. If they seem to be behaving, don't believe it; frame them.

  :goodjob:
Self and mates got on really with our local Police from about 12 to mid 20's.
They knew our names, addresses,  parents names.
We knew their first names, which one's not to bullshit with and who could take a joke.
When we were about 18 or 19, a couple of us were their kids soccer coaches and drove them to the games in our cars. Told the kids some of our adventures with their dads. They cracked up.
Eg: pulled us up on our pushies about 10:30 at night,  no lights -again. "Right, had a fking gutful, remove your tyre valves and walk home ". Mate said too tight, won't come out."  :D
PO reaches into glovebox,  and says " I will cut the fking tyre off if they won't come out "  :D
("Click" goes a flick knife) try again
Great respect for those guys and later they trusted us with their kids.

 Good story Mick. WE lived in days when the police were mixing and socialising with the community.

I remember our country town cop, his house was his office and it had a one room cell behind it. I was about 8 and met a kid I hated right outside his place. We were rolling around on his front lawn thumping each other when we were lifted by our collars and marched to the cell door.
A lasting truce was negotiated.

Trish had a close friend at school who's big Brother was a local cop. When she went to beach parties with her mates the cops would come down and take their keys and drop them back in the morning (to the ones who were sober enough to drive)

When she got a bit older (this is over 45 years ago) she would drop into the cop station with her friend and have a cuppa with the cops. Don't think you could do that now.
