hi all, recently bought an i30 off a guy who bought it brand new in June 2022.
has 10,000km on it and no faults on the dash at least anyway, I have the headlights set to auto, but they don't appear to ever turn off, anyone else noticed this on theirs? is there a sensitivity setting for the auto on/off time?

Problems & Issues

Im hoping to get some advice or guidance where I could pick up a replacement boot release button for my i30. I purchased the car as 2nd hand and the fault only appeared soon after the warranty had expired.

The rubber seal on the button had cracked  and I assume water has got in and now it does not operate or function at all. The only way I can operate the boot lid is by crawling into the boot and using the manual slot located on the inside of the boot lid.

I got a quote for a replacement part from a local Hyundai dealer but it was very excessive! Has anyone got any suggestions where I could get a more reasonably priced replacement on the web? Anything online I see, they all appear to be for the older ...

ABS & disks
When out on the open road, my ABS seems to be activating for no reason, though the ABS light does not. I slow the car gently down from 50 mph, and around 40 mph, I get that ABS pumping feeling through my brake pedal. So I go a little harder on the brake, then the ABS seems to cut out and normal, and also heavy braking kicks in. It was very worrying at first, but I've got the hang of it now to some extent.  But slowing down is never smooth, and passengers think my driving is terrible!
I've had various garages look at it. One guy wiped the computer fault codes. Weeks later, he tested again and found no fault, so he was powerless to tackle the problem as he didn't know where to start. Changing all the sensors and wheel bearings ...

So I picked up my 2012 GD i30 Active CRDi in April 2013 (See :link: 2012 GD i30 Active CRDi - One year on for my 1-year update).

- 118,100 km travelled for an average of 5.05 L/100km economy
- It has been a great vehicle with no issues in the first 9 years of its life
- 87,000 km on the factory tyres. On its second set now.
- Minor issues with steering (plastic power steering lug and clock spring needed replacement in the last 12 months)
- Tailgate latch broke late last year. Genuine replacement part was pricey, but easy to replace
- When car is cold and on a slight incline there is a distinct rattle from dash/eng...

I have a Hyundai I30 FD CRDI 1.4 2010
My car got a problem with his heater fan. The fan blows nothing. No sound, no air. As if the fan was turned off. Here is a list what I checked :

- 2 AC fuse of fuse box in passenger side : OK
- Blower fuse in engine bay near the battery : OK
- Blower relay in engine bay : OK

:link: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

- Blower resistors : OK
- Blower itself : OK
- Continuity between blower relay in the fuse/relay box near the battery and the blower : Not OK

Is there another relay ? Is it hidden ? When I removed the air blower, I didn't see anything...

Or my ha...

Hi all,
I have some questions in relation to my  manual 2014 i30 1.6 cdri bluedrive ;

-Current mileage is around 71000 miles (approx 114,000km)
-From my understanding Hyundai don't specify an interval for gearbox oil change - however if I wanted to get one done, what is the recommended oil and quantity required?
-Is there an interval for coolant to be changed and again, how what is the quantity required for a full change/flush?

Thanks in advance

Check Engine Light
Good morning all,

This morning this little light started flashing on my dash.  Appeared after about two minutes driving, flashed a few times then stayed on.  I pulled over to read the manual about what it meant then after about 30 seconds, the light disappeared and I continued on my way to work.

Should I be concerned?  I'm heading away this long weekend and don't want any issues with my car.

This indicator light is part of the Engine Control System which monitors various emission control system components. If this light illuminates while driving, it indicates that a potential malfunction has been detected somewhere in the emission control system.

Got new tires fitted at Bridgestone and driving home, I thought I'd check the pressure.  Readings as per picture.

Today on the way to work, pressure in top left, right and bottom right were 44, bottom left was 39.

Surely they'd know to inflate the tires to the correct pressures?!!?

Do I deflate them to the recommend pressure?  I got Turanza Serenity Plus.
