Here is the result of being very patient with a crappy dealer. Car isnt as clean as i would have hoped as it rained on the drive home so i will clean it down and get some nice pics asap.

And yes im well aware the parking is terrible, i wasnt trying to park lol i simply pulled into an empty car park to get some pics. Seems something went wrong in the upload process but you get the idea.

Edit - Blocked out my licence plate as it makes me feel better.

Snap ---- Same colour as mine.
Looks great.
It does look better in the flesh than the repo picture in the book/web.

Be careful re the fuel gauge bars.  I find when it is goes onto 2 bars all of a sudden I find that it drops to 1 and the red low fuel light comes on.

I estimate that I have about 1 to 1.5 gallons (5 litres may be 6) left at that point.  Would be interested in your best guess.

I'd rather have the needle than the bars but suppose that is progress..........

ps what colour are the reversing sensors?  Black?

Interesting thing (for my eyes) is: What dealer delivers you a car with an empty tank?
Is it not usual to get a fully fueled car in GB?

I'm not sure with regards to what is left at that point to be honest, this is just what i picked the car up with. The sensors are black, the sensors them selves are piano black with a small rubber ring around them. I considered painting them at work but that means either removing the bumper to remove the sensors for painting or ruining the rubber ring as its almost impossible to mask. I think ill stick to black lol.

Yeah in the flesh the colour is very very nice, several people at work have complimented the colour already.

Not that i am aware of, my last 2 brand new cars, an i30 and a civic type-s were both just above empty.

Sometimes you can negotiate a tank of fuel as part of the free add ons but when I picked mine up it was on 3 bars.  Dropped to 2 by the time I got home.

The red low fuel light came with 93 miles on the Ode

How many liters of petrol had been in a tank when you got your car?

it is true in Russia too - new cars are delivered to owners with tanks almost empty (just some liters to get to the nearest petrol station)

Interesting. In Switzerland it's normal that u get a new car cleaned, with a full tank and a 'road tax vignette' (everyone who wants to drive on national highways has to buy every year a sticker for a small fee).

Tough the dealers theoretically charge some  "delivery fee" in addition to the cars price for this service. But in practice this fee seldomly has to be paid in the end because it gets waived during the price negotiations.

In this country your car is cleaned and you get your tax. That is about all you get. The mats are generally negotiable.

I would say there was 2 gallons in the tank to be honest as it has 90 range atm and seems to be doing 44mpg currently around town driving.

Worth the wait? Thought so ;)

(PS, go easy on city roads for a couple of days as your plate isn't showing as registered or insured yet)

Probably on askmid

http://ownvehicle.askmid.com/

It's supposed to be for your own vehicle but hundreds use it regularly.

No need yet. Their system will most likely update overnight (once the registration has gone through), unless they're using the same batch updating system that RBS and NatWest have

Excellent vehicle, note in pic 3 the big grin on it's front. It's very happy you rescued it from those morons at Benfield

P.S. Does it have a name

Congratulations on the new car - it looks great.
On the fuel issue, in Australia it's up to the individual dealership as to whether they give you a full tank of fuel. They don't have to.
My daughter's Mazda was full though when picked up the other day so credit to them for that.

That's pretty poor IMHO.
It doesn't cost them much to fill a tank but provides a lot of goodwill.

Very shortsighted IMO. How important to show goodwill and encourage new owners to feel that they have been looked after properly. After all, you pay enough for pre-delivery charges. :fum:
