I recently decided to paint the engine hood and roof of my car because color faded and turned from black to grey and actually I had a two color car. I didn't expect the color to fade so soon since I own the car only 4 years but this propably happened because I used a cover in the winter.
I wasn't sure if I should paint only the faded parts beucase there is always a risk for the newer painted parts to differ from the rest of the car.
I also painted a part of the rear bumber.
At the end I was very pleased with the result. Here are some photos:

Is the cover responsible for the headlight scratching

Paint looks good, did YOU do it or have it done

I didn't do it! A professional did it. Hood and Roof and a part of the rear bumber (which I hit it on parking) at 150€, which I think it was a great price.

I do not think that the cover was responsible for the scratching. The rear lights are fine. Also dealer said faulty plastic.

150 Euro. I couldn't even get one of those parts painted here for that price.

If I ever need the car painted, I'm comming to Greece...

Well I had a good deal here. Normally it's 100-120€ per part.
