Oh Dazza, I cant believe you chose a Camry Hybrid

Will be interesting to see your real-life consumption - I'm one of the hybrid haters who believe its all a marketing exercise to make ignorant rich Americans feel like they are doing something for the environment while some baby is born in China with two heads after its village water was contaminated from the battery plant.

Anyway, caradvice have a track day review on the camry hybrid and it seems to have scored fairly well on some tests.  Still not my cup-of-tea

they wouldnt make hybrids unless they actually had some merit!!

i do agree with the battery statement... just look at what the "energy saving CFL" lights have done...

I can see where you are coming from .. have done over 100 kms in one and the drivetrain is very effective and the 6.0 LPH figure they quote is achieveable. I will miss the i30 but I gain as much as I loose. As I get older my priorities are changing as far as cars are concerned..The Hybrid is much quieter, roomier with a more compliant ride and almost the same economy. At a list price of around A$44,400 drive away it would want to ...

I saw that review the Hybrid surprised them with its performance ...
