I've just had another look at insurance and just for fun i wanted to see what was
the difference in costs between the SX & SR. The SR is only $10 a month more than
the SX. $60/mth is the cheapest insurance for the SR i've found for someone under
30.

NOTE: Budget Direct were the dearest of all quotes i received.

SR model for $30,000

Annual Amount: $1,860.61
Monthly Instalment: $165.84
Monthly instalments will total $1,990.03 over 12 months, which is $129.42 more than the annual payment option.

the SX CRDi 5 speed with only extras being window tint & CC insured for $24,000 was only $70 per year cheaper than my Ford BA V8 Auto Ute insured for $25,000. and the ute is in the Hi Performance insurance class and with same company. one cost $800 a year the other cost $870 but i payed an extra $50 so if the i30 window needs replacing from chip or crack it's free, the Ute does not have that so would be an aditional $50 for the ute but the Ford windows are cheap., was not sure what an i30 window would cost.

I also own a 2004 Harley Sportster Hey m8 i have two big twin Harley's one is a Shovelhead the other is a Dyna Superglide twin cam both have big inch motors, i've been riding Harley's since the 70's never had one insured and never had a problem. if you need any advice with the mechanic's on your sporster just ask.also if you want to race, i race the superglide

SGIO: $67/MONTH or $750/Year  <- due of Economical Car Discount
GIO: $250/month or $2800/year <--- I ask them why so expensive?, they reply its a TURBO (-.- its a turbo diesel ... its slow)
SHANNONS : $220/month or $2600/year <--- I ask them why so expensive?, they reply its a TURBO... (-.- its a turbo diesel.. its slow)

Yeah i thought it might have something to do with the car being a really hotted up sporty hoon car because it has a magical turbocharger
i will deffiantly be trying to find an insurer who knows what they are talking about before settling on who i choose

Ouch have you tried NRMA ? they told me coz mine was diesel with lower emissions  they said 10% and i get an additional 5% of any other policies I have
