Title: Cabin temperature sensors in 2016 i30
Post by: torleifj on April 06, 2023, 11:12:40
Does anyone know where the cabin temperature sensors are located? After 30 minutes of driving, my i30 gets ver hot in the drivers side and cold in the codriver side, regardless if ac is active or not. Outdoor temp is approx 0 deg C.

Have you tried the self test procedure found on this forum?

With ignition lights on, hold down the off button and press the middle vent button (face vents) 4 times quickly.

Thank you so much. We are travelling right now. I will test as soon as I have an option to do so.

We travelled yesterday, so I did some experiments.
The self test returns flashing 00. I can't step through the tests, or there are just no issues.
During the trip, I noticed that setting 22C in the driver side and 27C in the other made the temperature stabilize. Setting the driver side temp to 25C made the temp oscillate between min and max.

If your getting max temp and min temp from the faulty side then it would be a problem with the blend flap I would think but it should show up in the self test as a fault code, 00 means it's fully working.
Maybe the solenoid motor hasn't completely failed yet and it's not registering, who knows I'm only guessing.
An obd scan might show something I'm not sure.
