Hi,

We had a flat battery two day's ago and now the motor surges when starting to accelerate. Any idea why? It is a i 30 CDRI auto diesel

  That's a bit odd (can't say of heard that one before)

If it were my car I would probably disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for a  minimum of 30 minutes to reset the ECU/BCM

Hope you didn't jump start the car with jumper leads and fry something electronic!
