Title: hyundai xteer synthetic oil
Post by: stelli40 on August 19, 2017, 12:29:45
Hello everyone,

I have a hyundai i30 1.4 crdi 2013 and recently went for my 45K service. The shop highly recommended the  hyundai xteer synthetic oil (made in Korea). I would like to hear anyone's experience with this oil. which number did you use? 5w30 20w-50?

Don't know that oil but if those are the only 2 available 5W-30 is the pick for you. 20W-50 is not suitable for your engine.

Xteer is Hyundai's own oil, supposedly still a good oil as it uses Shell base stock but I have never used it http://www.oilbank.co.kr/oil2013/english/product/xteer.jsp?gnb=39&left3=9 (http://www.oilbank.co.kr/oil2013/english/product/xteer.jsp?gnb=39&left3=9)

5W-30 or 5W-40 would likely be the viscosity required so any full synthetic oil within that range should be fine if compatible with diesel engines...if you have DPF ( diesel particulate filter ) then the oil also has to be compatible with that as well.

I can highly recommend Shell Ultra 5W-40 :)

Go for 5w30 as they are compatible with Greece Weather.

How are things going after the earthquake in Kos? The port is ok now and fixed?
