Hi All.   
Just picked up my first i30 (2012 1.6 crdi).   I inherited an i20 1.4crdi comfort 5 years ago. It's now on 181000 miles so it's going out to pasture.

For me, the natural choice was an i30 this time.  Slightly bigger,  better engine, even cheaper tax and its a good looking car.  I found the i20 incredibly easy to work on so presume the i30 should be similar, looks identical under the bonnet.

Got a few questions to start off with as it's only a Classic model so needs a few mods to bring up to decent spec.
(who thought it would be a good idea to just put one light in it, right in the middle of the car behind front seats?  🙄😂.

Hello from East Sussex!

My wife got a 2013 i30 a few weeks ago, and i've just fitted a new head unit in it for her today and its transformed the whole interior of it!

Yes, that is a bit old fashioned. I think all series 2 (GD) i30's sold in Australia have map lights up front! Yours would be from the Czech factory...

This is the one that I just fitted for my wife from Rob @ Icebox Auto

and it looked like this a few hours ago



It runs Android 9 and is an 8 core CPU so its pretty responsive!

That looks really neat!

Just looked around and I can get a double din surround for the i30 so maybe I can use my Parrot. 

Easy to swap?  I broke the heater controls fitting it in i20 because it has old school mechanical knobs with wires etc.

I'd like to use the parrot if possible. Would be nice to use the hyundai roof mic with it. 🤔😀
