Anyone bored of Marmite on toast (are you mad?) on crumpets or wherever you like spreading the brown sticky stuff, might fancy trying these alternatives recipes.

Two of my favourite Marmite/Vegemite (yes, I've tried both) options are the following:

Poached eggs on Toast with Marmite/Vegemite.

Avocado and Marmite/Vegemite on Toast.

I can't bring myself to try bacon with either of them.

When I was a kid I used to spread vegemite on toast like peanut butter! .. Until, I got diagnosed with high blood pressure in my early twenties..

Stopped having it and all other high salt foods and managed to get to mid fifties before needing blood pressure meds!  :goodjob2: :goodjob:

I had some Marmite on vetkoek a few evenings ago...delicious

But Marmite spread thinly on warm toast with fresh butter is still a winner for me (and better than Oxo or Bovril by a long shot)

Vegemite on toast is a winner for me :)

I just noticed in the shops today we now have Cadbury Vegemite chocolate so I'll have to try it, the new peanut butter and pretzel flavour was quite nice.

I've never tasted crap, but I'll take your word for it, Rusty!!

I've heard that it tastes a bit like salted caramel and chocolate.  I'm not willing to try, incase it tastes like crap.   :whistler:

Thanks :)

I think I'll wait till someone else has bought some that I can taste first before I waste money on it, I'm still eating the peanut butter an pretzel block at the moment.
