Title: Gearbox Oil/ Coolant Questions
Post by: i30bluedrive on April 12, 2023, 21:05:43
Hi all,
I have some questions in relation to my  manual 2014 i30 1.6 cdri bluedrive ;

-Current mileage is around 71000 miles (approx 114,000km)
-From my understanding Hyundai don't specify an interval for gearbox oil change - however if I wanted to get one done, what is the recommended oil and quantity required?
-Is there an interval for coolant to be changed and again, how what is the quantity required for a full change/flush?

Thanks in advance

75w-85 was the spec for my manual box though different locations might suggest something else, all fluid amounts should be listed within the specifications section of your Owners Manual

I personally had my gearbox oil replaced with a much better Penrite in the first year,  though generally 100,000kms is a good time to refresh fluids :)

My gearbox oil is only changed when a new clutch is fitted, the coolant was green/blue Hyundai coolant in mine when I got it with 85k miles, Don't think it had ever been changed, I swapped it out for the pink 5 year stuff as soon as I got the car.
