Title: DIY tips for suspect reverse sensors
Post by: captaintweed on January 03, 2016, 18:29:25
Hey lads & ladies

Recently had my reverse sensors stop working. Not 100% sure exactly when, but they've gone from operating normally to not at all. No beeps when placing the car into reverse, nothing.

So before I take her in to the garage, are there any tricks/tips I can try to coax them back into life?

Thanks folks

Not sure what switch you're referring to - by my right knee I've only got the ESP switch?

On my car there is a button with a P.  It is in the same cluster of switches which alters the lights on the dash.

It is just to the right of the steering wheel. Just above where you right knee would be.

Esp switch on my car is below the radio.

What year and model is your car.

I had switch on both of my cars
57 plate fd
12 plate gd

Check handbook as it details switch location in the book

They illuminate fine, i understand their illumination/activation of reverse sensors is linked? eye30 - not sure. car is 2nd hand, i've only had her 8 months. I wouldn't have thought so as the cars handbook details the operation of the rear sensors
