i thought id give everyone a laugh and tell you ive been banned from my Hyundai dealership. my wife went in today to chase up the issue with the stitching on the drivers seat and they refused to look at the problem and said they didn't want the car back ever again.
ive been escorted out of a few clubs in my time, but i never thought id be banned from a car dealership, lol..

 sorry for laughing - it's the way you tell 'em

So, a Hyundai dealership is refusing to honour your warranty. Interesting....

haha that's a good one! I've heard of dealers "getting rid of" difficult customers by claiming, when the manufacturer rings them to get their story, that the customer was threatening and abusive. They'd be some sort of idiot to try that one on, but I have heard of it.

Just tell everyone you possibly can (including Hyundai) about it and try another dealer. Wear on seat bolsters is always a difficult issue but no dealer worth his or her salt would just tell you, wholesale, to go away. That's lunacy.

ive been banned from my Hyundai dealership.

I think we should call you "ASBO" man

For our overseas members ASBO = Anti-Social Behaviour Order
Is a civil order made against a person who has been shown to have engaged in anti-social behaviour. In the UK, there has been criticism that an ASBO is sometimes viewed as a 'badge of honour'

Tell your local paper.  They love stories like this.

asbo man, i like it. sorry Ive been a while replying, i was put inside for sending back my chicken nuggets in McDonald's.
the dealership is longman motors in basildon and i think the problem with the service manager started when he said my wife didn't know what she was talking about (I'm the only one allowed to say that, lol) regarding a problem with the ipod not charging and when i confronted him he did everthing he could to try and wind me up. ive had problems in the past with him when he said "read the manual, its clear enough even for you to understand"
Ive since been in touch with Hyundai finance and there sending me a form, this now takes it out of the dealers hands and opens a whole new playing field when dealing with the finance company.
its a shame the dealership have lost the plot because we love the car so much, i have more fun in it than i did in my clk, so i hope i can get it sorted.
ill keep posting updates as and when i get some info...
if anyone knows a route to Hyundai direct (an email or number) it would be gratefully received.

regarding a problem with the ipod not charging

Hmmm, which ipod is that then???

The 4th Generation Nanos have had something changed within their firmware that prevents 3rd party cables from charging them, Apple playing their usual games.

that service manager needs a rocket. Outrageous behaviour. I used to say that stuff too, but at least I had the courtesy to wait until after the customer left!

And if you have a genuine complaint you need to pursue Hyundai. Don't let it sour you on the car, they're fantastic things, and not all of the dealers are morons.

My ipod wouldn't charge in the car either, although when it was dead flat it would let the car provide enough power to run it when the car was running. I assume that's the firmware bumpkin was talking about. It might work properly if you buy the bespoke ipod cable ($140 in Aus!) but this crap was just another reason I threw my ipod away. They're a bunch of stooges, and they make it very difficult to even get the music you paid for off their stupid format so you can use it on a proper machine.

I now keep my music on a couple of 32gb thumb drives and I'm not looking back.

I have the genuine Hyundai ipod cable and it will connect a 4th gen Nano and play from it, but it does not charge it.
