It wouldn't be hard to do, they have already developed the 1.7 for the i40..... It would actually reduce the number of different engines for them, so would nearly be cost neutral.

Just out of interest, does everyone have the specifications of the quality of diesel fuel in their respective countries?

Here in SA we get 500ppm diesel, which wreaks havoc with turbocharger systems and injectors - and thus steers people well away from diesel vehicles. This might also explain why Hyundai only saw fit to import the 1.4 CRDI in the i20 and no other models :(

Here the diesel allways follow the standard EN590 with the cetane number not less than 51. The brand I use have 7% biodiesel added.

What's wrong with DCT? Besides no clutch pedal that is?

Apparently really great, while they are working. But long term, not convinced they are that reliable.

Theres less to go wrong than in a standard auto. The whole gearbox section is standard manual transmission. The only "special" parts are the clutch and selector, and its a fairly simple design.

...and they're much better for mpg than a normal auto transmission....  :happydance:

I will defer to your increased knowledge on the subject. :undecided: (But I'm still not convinced.)

So far i've not seen nor heard any concerns with the Velosters, so good so far. I much prefer a third pedal though.

One could think Hy have learned from the issues in the DSG boxes from VW and made sure not to make the same mistakes in their product...  ;)

There are more than enough manufactures stuffing up the old style auto...

As a part of my new car scope, I briefly looked at the Territory diesel.....reading the Ford Forums Territory diesel forum quickly cured me of any desire. At least 5 auto replaced under warranty at very low km's plus a 'service program' to change a part due to gear box noise (unrelated to the auto explosion).  Not what you want in a car with a 3year/100,000 warranty. That's before you look at the expensive rear bushes that need to be replaced regularly...

Personally I'm very underwhelmed by this new model. I was soooo looking forward to the new sr with the supposed 1.8 turbo engine, and I've read it's a 1,6? It's got a few more kW that's my current sr. I believed it would rival all of the rival hot hatches, disappointed  :blubber:

Really?  Bugger.  I'd buy another, and that's not something I'd say about most cars I've owned.  I'll have to hang on to mine for a while then.  I wonder what it will do to resale values?

It not official (Just something I read somewhere a month or two ago)

If it happens shouldn't effect resale values as small wagons are are fairly scarce on the 2nd hand market and quite versatile (as you and I know) :victory:
