Title: Windscreen Position
Post by: Mark65 on August 14, 2020, 19:40:59
Hi all,
I had my windscreen replaced due to a crack, Autoglass in there fitting wisdom butted the screen up on one side which left a large gap down the other side., I only noticed the next day when washing it.
It's going back end of this week to be re fitted, could any one tell what the gap setting is down each side and across the top?.
It's a 2016 model i30, this model doesn't have any trim on the sides, I can make some little guide pegs once I know.
Thanks
Mark

I don't have that model but, assuming the windscreen you were given is the right one, measure the four gaps you now have and average. I doubt there is any more sophisticated approach from even the OEM / dealer.

Hi,
Didn't realise I had left this, keeping it short, they refused to redo it as it was in spec(6mm) apparently, lucky for me there was a defect in the glass and it had to be replaced, this time they sent a tech from Liverpool branch and he on his own put a new seal on the new glass and it went in straight as a die.
It shows that some people don't give a toss about there work and some do.
