Title: 2008 i30 CRDi P1405 code
Post by: Deano on June 28, 2018, 01:17:28
Hi all, I'm new to this but having owned an i30 for almost 5 Yeats I thought this is the best spot for help.
I have an issue where my engine light comes on and off at various times and the code coming up is P1405, could somebody shed some light on what this issue is and how to fix it! I have gave it the long run(60kms +) at high revs to burn off the DPF on a few occasions but it made no difference.
Thanks for your help in advance

You have obviously read up on this and tried the DPF burn.

Being a clever Dutchie , this guy checked and found a broken part.

Other than that, I can only suggest EGR cleaning and clear the stored code.

Good luck

Are you sure you actually have a DPF fitted?

Do what nzenigma suggests and get the EGR washed.

Thanks Shambles,  :goodjob2:

Good point, I was making an assumption  :disapp: we all know where they lead!

Unlike Europe, in Australia the DPF has only recently been introduced on the i30.

Yeah it's a strange one in the UK, this DPF business.

I never knew my 2008 FD CRDi Premium had one, until member instroe (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=2780) showed photos of the engine bay and I realised the Premium 2007/2008 FD was indeed so fitted, as later confirmed by my dealer when they serviced it and filled her up with non ACEA-C3 oil
