Update: They think some sort of strut is causing the creaking, they ordered a new one. Trans leak is the problem here, they don't see where it's leaking yet, not too worried about this...just solve the noise...we'll see. They seem pretty determined.

You should suggest that the trans leak be fixed when the car is in for its strut repair, or they'll conveniently forget.

I'm glad they've identified something & I hope it works for you.  :)

Well, they replaced the strut and still hear the creaking. so now it's going onto their body shop to look at the welds back there. I've seen on other websites where some ETs have more welds than others in certain areas so maybe this is it. Trans leak is still elusive, might have to put a few hundred miles on it to see it. Might be a cold weather leak.

NOISE IS GONE!. YAYYYY. They said they added some welds and put some kind of insulation tape back there to the part where the LATCH hooks are attached to. First time without creaking since I got it. Now to the other problems.....

Maybe a bit off topic . . . I always get creaks when I cross a gutter (or any other largish bump) at an angle.  I assumed it was just a bit of flex in the I30CW.  Not a problem at any other time.

It's not off topic, it's exactly what I'm talking about. Some people brush it off as being normal, I wanted it fixed.
