Oh shyte. Complications. Bugger.

If they are not available in 45 series what would be your next choice?

Prime considerations are quiet and comfortable. Wife is pretty crook at the moment and feels every bump on the road.

Thanks.

Rocket.

Rocket, check here for my comments on a Continental tyre which might suit your needs.

Thanks for the link Surferdude, very interesting and complimentary to the Continentals.

Unfortunately i missed your post as my wife has just had major surgery and been visiting her several times a day. This also prevented me from obtaining quotes for the different tyres.

Today i had a puncture at work and decided to just get some tyres from the place next door to work. Price for the Toyos was $250 each- too much for me! I was in a hurry and let them talk me into a set of $150 each tyres. He reckons they are great value - time will tell! They are Lucini Buono Sport. Never heard of them. Checked the sidewalls tonight and it says "Made in PRC " Hmmm ( Peoples Republic of China ). Size is 215/45R17.
Have only driven about 60klm on them so far and they seem quite good. Reasonably Quiet at 110klm/h, no tyre squeal with fast cornering, seem to have good traction.
Here is the car with the new wheels fitted -

Of course the dog just had to pee on them as soon as i got home tonight

Fitted one of my modified centre caps -Will see how it goes then decide which caps to use.

Rocket.

Car looks good rocket.
I've never heard of the tyres either but there are several hundred tyre factories in PRC. :sweating:
Be interesting to see how they wear.

Hope your wife is OK.

Hey thanks guys, really appreciate your sentiments.

My wife has been very ill for over a year now. Finally it was discovered that antibiotic beads that were surrounding her Aorta after a graft 5 years ago had ruptured through her duodenum. It was incredibly painful for her. She is currently in the intensive care unit with tubes hanging out of her everywhere.
The doctors are optimistic for her full recovery now. She is looking better already. The worst is behind us.

The i30 is proving to be an exceptional car. I have found that it is necessary to use the revs to get the most out of it, and i must admit that during my many trips to the hospital i pushed the car harder than i would normally, but the car just gets on with the job without any fuss.

Might even lift the bonnet and check all the fluids tomorrow - first time in ages. Not normally slack with car care.

Oh and the Wheels - Bloody Rippers!!

Rocket.
