Just out of interest, being I am in AU not UK, what are the details of the recall - e.g. issue date, etc. - because when I did a search on Hyundai the only result is for the one that was near a year ago.

Which AFAIK is actually a separate issue (steering module) to the recent one that is happening in AU (stability control module).

Trying to figure out if I am somehow searching wrongly.

2 recalls

Description :Two LEDs are used to calculate torque applied to the steering wheel. If the ECU senses a discrepancy in the torque sensing circuitry, an indicator lamp is illuminated in the instrument cluster, a diagnostic code is stored, and steering assist is no longer provided. The driver will have to supply more effort to steering the vehicle.Remedial Action :Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and re-programme the steering ECU. The steering will then be tested. If the vehicle fails the test a new torque sensor will be fitted.Vehicle Id :TMADC81SMAJ019026 to TMADC51SLBJ130189

=================

Description :Whilst manoeuvring a noise can be heard from the lower steering column area. The cause has been identified as loose bolts on the column universal joint. In extreme cases these may drop out causing the universal joint to detach and failure of the steeringRemedial Action :Check column for correct fitting and tighten universal joint bolts to correct torque.Vehicle Id :KMHDC51DP8U007693 to KMHDC81UP8U009681

Ahh - cool... the search wasn't magically missing one then (which is what I though was happening).

Leaving the search start date at default of 1-Jan-92 and setting end date at 1-Apr-16; setting make as Hyundai and model as i30 - I get three recalls listed (there are four results - but two are for one recall ID, just different VIN range)... the links are:

The last two being those detailed by eye30 in reverse order.

Hi Chap's (and Ladies as well).

Thank you for posting this very useful and (potentially life-saving)
information.

Am I correct in assuming that any i30 (2010) with the following code;

TMAC515LBJ152865

is not affected?

Kindest regards to you all

Rogmur

This appears to be missing a 'digit' (letter or number) - it only has 16 digits, where as 17 digits is usually the norm.

I really can't make any sense of that search form.  The 'from' and 'to' VINs seem to be backwards for a start?

Can someone with their eye in check mine?  VIN is TMADB51SMBJ163540

Thanks.
