Hello All,
I just wanted to inquire if anyone knows what the NGK equivalent Copper spark plugs are for the G4FJ in the 2018 I30 SR?
-
As far as I'm able to work out or find. This is the NGK part No: SILZKR8E8G
Champion make these :link: Champion Iridium Spark Plug - 9407 - CHAMPION | Repco Australia (https://www.repco.com.au/en/brands/champion/champion-iridium-spark-plug-9407/p/A9448903)
Denso does make a equivalent. Denso Iridium Long-Life Spark Plug # 3479
HKS do have an offering that work better with modified or boosted engines. HKS 50003-M40XL M-Series Super Fire . There is also a M45XL version.
As they are a different heat rating. Also, it is said that the HKS plugs are made by NGK.
Though I'm not sure why you would want a Copper core spark plug.. I know those replacements are not cheap.. But they should last an easy 80,000k's

You cant use standard copper plugs anyway, they don't fire hot enough which will cause the engine to run rich and the plugs will foul in no time...probably cause some misfiring and engine check light as well.
Stick with NGK or Bosch iridium plugs for a better 100,000km lifetime.

Thanks for that, Looks like I will be sticking to iridium plugs after all.

Just a follow up, I have purchased and installed the Champion plugs recommended by Purplehazeffc (champion-iridium-spark-plug-9407) I have immediately noticed that what i assumed was a hesitation (when accelerating heavily from a stop) caused by the traction control system is completely gone. So go the champion spark plugs?
