Title: lowered springs for 2017 PD
Post by: Cookie Thumper on January 05, 2018, 20:42:18: been searching the net and it seems nobody in Aus have springs for the PD. will springs from the GD fit ?

Looking to drop approx 50mm

It's a complete redesign, so I doubt it. A suspension specialist may be able to assess it for you though.

With the amount of work that went into "Australianising" the suspension I'd be nervous about altering it. :undecided:

There is a set of ONF lowering springs on the linked page.

Cheers just found them, 285USD for the springs and 300USD for delivery...........I'll pass.

If you're going to lower the car that's around what you'll be looking at for costs, if you manage to find something with the 50mm drop you could be up for even more cost as adjustable lower arms might be required as well as lowered shocks to accommodate the 50mm lower springs :undecided:

He recommended Kings Springs and would cost around AUD550 for the job. I was so tempted to do it, but after reading about the locally tuned suspension by Hyundai, I wasn't too keen....yet. Maybe a few years down the road perhaps.

Do Kings have them in stock or do they have to be made?

Post by: Joewong on January 09, 2018, 21:25:49: I believe they are ready made from Kings, already in stock. He told me it's not necessary to change the shocks. The springs lower to about 30mm, not the extreme 50mm.

Yes Hyundai Australia spent months with a team of suspension tuners trying around 200 different combinations of shocks and springs apparently.

You'll get away with the standard shocks though the rebound will be slightly affected due to stiffer springs as mine were with 20mm drop, I'll probably get the matching Bilstein shocks done on mine in the next few months.
