Title: i30 2010 Turbo replacement
Post by: i30whizz on May 04, 2021, 06:58:29
My i30 2010 been going like a rocket with no issues for the last 5 years suddently went pop yesterday. Not a big pop. But an audible pop none the less. Now no power, and billowing smoke out the back.
I suspect the turbo has gone and will be ordering a replacement soon.

I can see you can order a replacement cartridge or the whole turbo. They are not expensive being under $500 for the whole thing.
I can see there are GTA1544V and GT1544V variants. What is the difference?

Are there any good guides areound on how to replace this. My car is in a clients warehouse and I will need to do the repair myself.
They even have a forklift in the warehouse that I have jokingly said I might need to use! haha.

The full turbo's seem to come with a couple of gaskets. Are there any other consumables or clips etc that I might need?

Any tips or advice welcome!

Does anyone have a manual for this model i30 CRDi 2010
All the many manuals I have looked at don't mention the turbo at all.
