Hi everyone
Thought I would start a post on how my i30 Tourer CRDI Auto has been going economy wise. Since March 8 2014 when I a took delivery of the new car I have covered just over 11,000km, and have been doing most weeks about 60% country and 40% city/suburb driving. Some of the driving during the week is a short 2km commute to the railway station in the morning four days a week and back again at night. A lot of the country driving I have been using the cruise control.
Using Fuelly I have recorded the following fuel consumption figures.
Best fuel consumption between tank fills: 5.02 l/100km (when travelling 860km from Broken Hill to Kilmore via Mildura, Swan Hill & Echuca. Probably could have made it home another 90km away in Melbourne with the computer telling me I had 120km left to empty, but wasn't prepared to risk it. Wimpish I know.)
Worst fuel consumption between tank fills: 6.96 l/100km (on second tank fill)
Overall fuel consumption: 5.97 l/100km over 16 fills
I am happy with this fuel consumption, and love driving it. However not quite as low as some people have been recording.
