Hi,

My hatchback has a full alloy spare wheel but wondered if I bought a space saver and surround would I gain extra depth to the boot i.e. is the surround around the space saver tyre smaller than the one round my alloy?

other i30 owners have mentioned that the boot floor of an i30 with a  space saver is a different size and shape to one with a full size spare. there are pics amongst the 100,000 plus posts.  you may need to use the search function.

i've gained a new user name.

I have the space saver and once the rear seat folded down it only gains some 2 inches in the rear boot area.

I don't think it will make that much difference.

I had a full steel wheel in my Focus and swapped it for the space saver wheel option which comes with a different surround. It lowered the boot floor by at least six inches so gained a large amount of extra room. Was hoping I30 would be the same as it would nice to have an extra bit of room.
