Title: Tow kit installation
Post by: Papa_cin on March 02, 2017, 21:40:45
Hey crew! I'm after some advice, is it best to get a factory tow kit from Hyundai for my active x cdi? We have just got given a little Jayco Finch pop up camper and I want to do the most appropiate thing for my car, I also don't want to void any warrantys incase of any stuff ups. Also electric brake controller in car... do I need it?

Much love Dan

Hi Dan,

I hear Hayman Reece make a good towbar. I don't think it matters if it isn't a factory one. There are a few threads on here about them...

Any brand towbar will do. What you should consider is the look of the installation. Do you want any of the towbar to be visible when detached..? Can it be installed without cutting out in the bumper..?

I have a detachable towbar where nothing is visible when not in use, I like that.

The only way warranty could be voided is if the installer e.g connects the electric in a way it causes other components to fail.
