Hi can anyone help?
I am looking to put a sub in to my 2012 i30 gen 2
Can you fit them using the standard head unit?
Thanks

Thats the best method as above, although changing the headunit will always give you better quality :)

I installed an Audison Bit Ten D signal processor. All four channels out of the nav unit are fed into the Bit Ten, which feeds two amplifiers. A mono for subs and a four channel for the speakers.
The system is adjusted and tuned via a usb cord which plugs the bit ten to a lap top.
Works great!

Excuse me for stealing a bit of your post but where did you pull the powercable through from the engine bay? did you have to drill or cut? how big cable did you use?

The power cable goes out the side into the left guard, and then into the car. If you pull out the inner guard on the passengers side you'll find a hole to put it through.

As above, you will also need to remove the inner trim by the foot well.
Easiest way is to remove the flat trim accords the entry sill into the car, as it sits on top of the footwell trim :)
