The last time this happened causing a worn clutch at 20k miles, the dealership replaced the seal and fitted a replacement clutch under warranty.
Now the vehicle is 8 years old and it has happened again. The symptoms this time are clutch judder when first driven from cold and noticed today a small amount of engine oil leaking onto the driveway. The suspected diagnosis is a crankshaft seal on the gearbox side.
Given the poor attitude of Hyundai UK towards customers it seems unlikely this will be sorted under warranty now even though this seems to be a known issue. Found
this and
this thread on here.
I imagine it makes sense to get a new clutch kit fitted at this point as there must be oil contamination causing the judder... this i30 is a 1.4 petrol manual so are there any other jobs worth doing while various bits are off the engine?
