Title: 6 Speed Manual in Diesel only ? (for Australia)
Post by: Dazzler on July 23, 2011, 11:36:56
They have finally updated the Hyundai Australia website with the 6 speed manual...

Only showing it for the CRDi (and doesn't look like they are going to give us more cogs in the Auto either)

Over here, you can get 6 speed manual in 1.6 CRDi and 1.6 CVVT with BlueDrive technology. It's been like that since the update (facelift of the i30).

Unfortunately we didn't get the facelift either... :disapp:

Could it be that their petrol stock sells slower than diesel?

Possibly, But I think they would have waited and changed them all at the same time if that was the case (time will tell) All the members on here from Oz who have received a 6 speed all have Diesels as far as I'm aware... :winker:

Could it also be that the Holden Cruise Diesel has a 6 speed, while the cheaper petrol has a 5 speed?

I note the 6 speed auto as well, so perhaps there is hope?

The North American market really blows. No diesel option and no six speed option. I am surprised we even got a manual version of this because it seems most North American automakers are going to automatic as your only option.  :fum:

Hi Michael & welcome to the club.. I thought I read somewhere they were replacing the Elantra Touring in North America with the new Elantra Sedan  (that will have a six speed but probably not a Diesel option)

See pictures of it in this thread ...

I was told by a salesman that for 2012 they were keeping the touring the same as previous years. No idea if he is right nor not.

It was a good 6 months ago that I heard it .. maybe they changed their mind (I really like the wagon body - my wife drives one)  :goodjob2: (I guess time will tell) I might do some googling  :winker:
