Title: Trip Computer
Post by: mj_melody92 on July 23, 2011, 15:14:08
Hi everyone,

I have a 2009 MY09 i30, petrol engine auto and was flicking through the manual book and found information about a trip computer. Now my car just has a trip meter, as in when you push the trip button it simply resets however in the manual it said that i30's can have trip computers, where when you push the trip button it will switch between functions of a trip computer such as L/100km etc.
I was just wondering if there was any way that a Hyundai dealer (I live in Perth WA) could install/put in a trip computer?? Or is there any way at all I could get it for my car?
Any suggestions would help, thanks a lot!  :goodjob2:

Hi & Welcome, well there are a few different model i30's, the base model is called the SX it does not have a trip computer. the next model up is the SLX it has a trip computer, and top of the range SR has trip computer. the manual that comes with all the car's is a one for all type manual. if yopur not sure on your model an easy way is the SX is the only model that has steel wheels with plastic dress covers.
enjoy your ride.

Hello and Welcome ... Sounds very much like you have the SX model...There would be no economical way of adding the missing Hyundai trip computer function to your car (as far as I am aware)

There is however, an after market add-on called a scanguage which will give you that functionality and more but you do need to be a bit mechanically minded to use it to its full potential (there is also another similar product other members have mentioned)

I don't have either but you can (a) wait for others to come on and tell you more, (b) use the search button at the top of the screen to search for info on here or (c) Google scanguage for more info and pricing...

There was some feedback at one stage about issues using the scanguage with an auto (but these might be fixed now?)  :D
