Title: After eye30's "now that's a speed bump", see what we use

These are in force in Manchester where I live.

Absolutely devastating to vehicles that do not comply

Yes I've seen then before.
Although I didn't see it happen, a car was perched on top of a bollard and it had gone through the sump.  Oil everywhere.

How do they work? Do you have like a control box in your vehicle to make them lower? I notice a lot of the vehicles are buses, are they used a lot for dedicated transit lanes?

I reckon the're crazy! A tourist could easily get caught out just following a bus a bus or something innocently...

How do they work?
Sensors, front & rear, only fitted to buses and taxis.

There are loads of other clips like the one I posted. Some show utter carnage. Still, if it keeps the private traffic out of the reserved bus lanes then I'm all for it

Lokks like its the ONLY thing that keeps cars out, they take no notice of all the signs!
They will not make the same mistake twice!

That's insane - what's the idea of these things? Are they just designed to hurt people? Smash a car and potentially hurt the occupants just because some city beuracrat doesn't want them driving down a bus lane ???
