Title: ESP information required.

Several days ago the ESP light kept  showing that it was turned off.

 I looked at queries about this on the forum.

As a reult I checked all four tyres, the pressures were down.

They are now at the correct pressure and no further problems with the ESP.

Does this mean that when the ESP light comes on,  it can be used as a guide as low

tyre pressures on all four wheels ?

I would not use it as a failsafe for tyre pressures Alan, the ESP light can come on for a variety of reasons including faulty brake light switches.

For models without TPMS, you should check tyre pressures regularly in the normal way.

I don't have TPMS and my ESP light has never come on in nearly 4 years.

When I check the tyre pressure I always find 1 or 2 tyres need air in so I can't see how low tyre pressure causes the light to come on on cars without TPMS.

For peace of mind I'd be calling at dealers to ask their opinion.

I set my pressure per the book at 32 psi.

I've never really thought about how low the PSI is before I pump up so I wonder whether I've never reached the minimum for the ESP to Not come on yet.

Does anyone know the minimum psi before the ESP light comes on?

As far as I can remember they have not gone down that far.

Seems an odd psi - 25.6.

I'll check tyre pressure over weekend and see what psi is.
If below 25.6 I'll report back especially if my light isn't on.

Thanks for your replies, one of the tyres was down to 28 lbs sq. inch. So I may have a slow puncture. There were all at the correct pressure about 8 weeks ago, at 32lbs sq. inch.
