Hi guys,
Just wondering, with the iPod I' unable to go through the playlists instead, I find myself pushing the seek button just above the volume knob in my i30 SX model. Thought we'd be able to use the Tune knob to scan through certain playlists and songs within those playlists. Rather I'm pushing the up button and going through all thousands of my songs..
Any assistance? Or do we need that "special Hyundai iPod cable" that I've read on a few forums on google.
Thanks in advance!

Hi geecee
Even with the normal i30 you'll have to use the Tune knob. I find it very tedious as well. The only way I can find a song quickly is to search by album. But this can get tricky if forget the album name :P

Hi Hitman,
Do you have the special Ipod cable designed for use in Hyundais? I thought that gave more funtionality?
They are pretty cheap on EBay these days we just use USB sticks in both our cars...

If by "special iPod cable" you're referring to the one that comes with the car, then yes I have it :) I use it to charge my iPhone as well so I don't really use USB's

They don't usually come with the car over her (unless the Dealer throws one in as part of the deal) :undecided:

That is interesting (neither of our i30's was a Trophy) many past Aussie buyers have complained about not getting one... :undecided:

It was in the car's manual/service folder that they give with every car

I'd be interested to know if it is an automatic inclusion with all trophy models or indeed all i30's now in Oz (I doubt it)

Never asked for it.....I enquired the next day what it was for, when I found it.

The only thing I got was an aux cable. So you do need the cable for the added functionality then eh?
That's a shame. Guess I've just gotta go through my music one by one til I find the one I want to listen to lol.

Think they are only $25 or so on Ebay now! They have 2 plugs on the car end I believe

Yep 2 plugs at the end. An earphone jack and a USB.

mine is 1 week old now, and never came with the Ipod cable, ust the 3mm AUX jack. I use the standard apple usb cable that came with my phone, works fine, and charges, but i have no problem with going through the ipod through the stereo, mine is the SLX, so not sure if it has a different radio, but the radio instruction manual explains how to do it, its the seperate manual, not the car owners manual. on mine, you push and hold the seek knob for 2 seconds, then its controls the menu in the ipod just as it would if it was the ipods click wheel, turn it to playlists appears on the screen, press it, then it scrolls through your playlists, press again on the one you want, and press it on a track to play the songs in that list. the only thing i miss which my old Subaru stereo had was a shuffle all button.

Oh wow? Thanks for the heads up. Will try after work today!
I've got mine to shuffle? I think there's a "Random" button which also acts as a Radio preset channel. Might be channel 4 I think.
Thanks for the info but Ultralights!

It really is! .... and his tip worked a charm! No need for that "special" iPod cable, a standard one does the job! =D
