Great. Combination of those 17" wheels, silver car, tinted windows and black roof, is really great. The blue in the grill looks sporty and sleek. I like it a lot.

P.S.: Do all i30 have that type of front wipers ("old fashioned") in Brazil? I haven't seen those on i30 yet.

That intake is an epic fail. I can almost guarantee you are just sucking in hot air from under your hood. Get a NICE drop in filter and leave it alone.

Welcome too, but  :whsaid:

The colder the air the denser it is and has more ability to expand in the engine. Hot air will offset this & reduce engine power.  :'(

I already took it off, but I was using becouse it makes a cool sound. I know that I lost power, but here in brazil the streets realy suck, run isn't a good ideia.
I think here is the only country where the companies sells cars with engine 1.0

Do you mean your roads are congested or just poor quality
Title: Re: I30 2.0 with some mods from Brazil
Post by: esswein on January 01, 2012, 21:47:18
Both. The good streets are congested, and the rest is poor.
I don't know there, but becouse of that, my car is making a lot of interior noises.  :'(

That's sad, In country Australia, we have long distances between towns and generally good roads and it is a pleasure to get in the car and just enjoy the drive.

All imported cars aren't made for Brazil. Even the gasoline it's different. The engine needs to be modified. Our gasoline has 20% of Alcohool and we pay almost 2,60R$ (reais) = 1,39U$ (dolars) for 1L.
The car cost me almost 30,000 dolars. 2.0 Engine, 17' wheels, manual transmission... It's the "basic" i30 sold here.

Some of our fuel has Ethanol in it (only 5 or 10% though ..) but the fuel price is about the same or even higher..

and.. only our top model gets those 17" wheels and that is around A$30,000  :undecided:

What i dont understand it's why here we pay 2,60 R$ for 1L (80% gasoline) and the company sells to Argentina by 1,00 R$ (100% gasoline). The Top version of the car cost about 40,000 U$. Same 17' wheels, but automatic, 6 airbags, ESP, Leather, Sunroof...
All the versions are  Black or Silver.

Does Hyundai mod the engine to take your fuel. It's sad you have to pay that price for fuel. This is what governments do unfortunately. We have oil reserves here in Australia, but we pay the Singapore price for crude regardless of where it comes from. So, when the Cineses buy, we pay the inflated price also.  :fum:

his fuel doesn't sound much better than what we buy. IMO.

No, Brazil is very heavily dependent on ethanol substitution. I think it can be as much as 85%, which is great for the planet, but requires special mods to the engine. Ethanol won't light at cool temps which is why there is still 15% petrol in the mix. Personally, I think all petrol engines will go this way, to stop reliance on fossil fuels.

No, my father gave it to me when i started college  :D

Here we use ethanol with the gasoline to make it cheaper, not to save the world :p
Some cars use both. Just gasoline or just ethanol, or mix it all in the gas tank.

Wow, you are a bit lucky   I wasn't allowed to get my first car until I saved up for it in full (mind you it was a 1968 Ford Cortina 440 with 100,000 miles on it and it only cost A$850)

36 years later I have had around 26 cars of which 16 have been brand new .. But none of them were given to me ... :winker:

I had a couple of my cars for 4 years and some for 2 years and quite a few for only 12 months.. Worked in lots of industries and had quite a few work vehicles as well. Changing circumstances has often instigated a change of vehicle...

Oh, why Australia people are called Aussie? It's wrong to say Australian? LOL .. Us "Aussies" like to abbreviate most words.. Barbeque = Barbie or BBQ etc.. Nothing wrong with calling us Australians though ..  :goodjob:
