My i30 CRDi had its first service today - total cost £135.06 plus VAT.
My car was one of the first U2 engined cars with a DPF sold by the dealership so I interrogated them regarding the engine oil they would use. They told me that they now use ASEA C3 low ash oil as standard in all the diesel cars they service - regardless whether they have a DPF or not - to ensure that they get no problems with the wrong choice of oil.
The car felt quite strange when I drove it home - the clutch had been adjusted and the "bite" position was earlier - as was the hand brake which now requires only half the "stroke" to apply. The gear change between 1st and 2nd and 3rd is now quite sweet - previously it was "notchy" so I guess they had made some adjustment here.
Very satisfied with the service and price - my previous Audi A3 2.0 TDi first service cost £262.

It is the 2nd which is a biggy as they change brake/clutch fluid and air con filter

I have no idea what the scheduled work is for each service. My car came with an Owners Manual, A Warranty Booklet, A Roadside Assistance Booklet and finally a Service Record book. In none of these documents does it detail what work is carried out at each sevice.
I have seen reference in posts on this forum to a Service Passport which details the schedules. I don't have one - is it possible to down load a copy - if so, where from?

Go through all my posts. Somewhere in that lot I uploaded a service schedule...
