Title: Headliner Cloth Removal
Post by: syecadelic on November 17, 2011, 16:18:05
Hey there, interested to know if anybody has removed the headliner from their car, if so how hard is it to remove/and re-install

Reason being I want to get access to the aerial wiring underneath

Cheers,
Sye

I haven't.
Seen a topic on a forum for Honda civics saying for them you just remove all the plastic trim at the top half of the car, grab/Jesus handles etc, and it should be easy enough from there, just want advice before i try it, and get it back up ...

Sorry M8 .. me neither in any of my 26 cars...

If it were me I'd ask at a couple of smash repair places (they should know)

There was a chap who put vinyl roofing on the outside of his car recently. He had to remove the aerial so would know what to do. I would search for that thread & PM him & see how you go from there.

Had a look/search, coudn't find anything, the ariel is easy enough to remove, done it before myself, as its near the rear, u can slip your hand under the headliner to access the 17mm(i think) nut.

I'll maybe have a go this weekend if i get the time :)

Guess what, I can't find it anywhere, I'm sure you saw it too. It was a dark colour on a silver CW I think, somewhere in Europe. It probably wasn't vinyl I think it had a textured chequer plate effect on it.  Perhaps you can help. :undecided:

I thought foils were something you got in your hair.......

And, I had a Holden HQ Premier with a black vinyl roof. It also had a pull back vinyl sunroof which I loved..... :D
